Download your JPGs one by one or all as a ZIP

WebP is a modern format that web browsers love — it loads fast and looks great. But download a WebP image and try to open it on your phone, send it to a friend, or drop it into a document, and you may run into trouble. Many apps — photo managers, older email clients, print services, and plenty of desktop software — still do not recognise WebP files. Converting to JPG gives you a file that opens everywhere, reliably.

JPG has been the universal photo format for decades. Every operating system, every printer, every social platform, and virtually every app that handles images understands JPG. If you need your image to just work without any compatibility questions, JPG is the safe choice.

One thing to keep in mind: if your WebP file has a transparent background, that transparency cannot be preserved in JPG — the format simply does not support it. imgAxe fills transparent areas with white before saving as JPG, which is standard practice. If keeping the transparent background matters to you, consider converting to PNG instead using our WebP to PNG tool.

imgAxe handles this conversion right in your browser. Nothing is uploaded — your files stay on your device the entire time. No account, no signup. You can confirm this by opening the Network tab in your browser's developer tools while converting: you'll see no outbound image traffic at all.

Common questions

Is this free to use?
Yes — completely free. No account, no watermark, no limit on how many files you convert.
Do my files get sent to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser on your own device. Nothing is transmitted. You can verify this by checking the Network tab in your browser's developer tools during a conversion.
What happens to transparency in my WebP image?
JPG does not support transparency. Any transparent or semi-transparent areas in your WebP file are filled with white in the JPG output. If you need to keep the transparent background, use our WebP to PNG tool instead.
Will JPG look as good as the original WebP?
At quality 90 — which is imgAxe's default — the JPG output is visually very close to the original for photographic images. For graphics with sharp edges or fine text, you may notice slightly softer lines, which is inherent to how JPG compression works.
Is there a file size limit?
No limit is set by imgAxe. How many files you can process at once depends on your device's available memory. Most modern devices handle large batches without any issue.
